About Women Empowerment Cell
The Women Empowerment Cell (WEC) of our institution is established with the primary
objective of promoting gender equality, self-confidence, leadership qualities, and overall
development among women students and staff. The Cell works towards creating a safe,
supportive, and inclusive environment that enables women to realize their full potential in
academic, professional, and personal spheres.
The Women Empowerment Cell actively organizes skill development programs, awareness
initiatives, and interactive sessions that encourage women to become self-reliant, socially
responsible, and confident individuals. It serves as a platform for discussion, guidance, and
empowerment, fostering a culture of respect and dignity for women.
Objectives
To promote gender equality and women’s rights within the institution.
To create awareness about women’s legal rights and safety measures.
To develop self-confidence, leadership skills, and decision-making abilities among women students.
To organize skill development and entrepreneurship-oriented programs.
To provide guidance and support on health, hygiene, and mental well-being.
To encourage financial independence and self-employment opportunities.
To ensure a safe and secure campus environment for women.
Initiatives
The Women Empowerment Cell organizes various programs throughout the academic year
focusing on skill enhancement, awareness, and holistic development.
1. Skill Development Workshops
To encourage creativity, self-reliance, and entrepreneurial skills, the following workshops
have been conducted:
Makeup Workshop
Training on basic professional makeup techniques, grooming, and
personal presentation skills.
Bangle Making Workshop
Hands-on training in creative bangle designing, encouraging
small-scale entrepreneurship ideas.
Embroidery Work Workshop
Practical sessions on embroidery techniques to enhance
artistic and income-generating skills.
Mehendi Workshop
Training on traditional and contemporary mehendi designs, promoting
cultural art and self-employment opportunities.
These workshops aim to equip women with practical skills that can contribute to self-
employment and financial independence.
2. Awareness and Development Seminars
The Cell regularly conducts seminars and awareness programs on important issues
concerning women’s welfare and safety, including:
Health and Wellness Seminar
Awareness on women’s health, hygiene, nutrition, stress
management, and mental well-being.
Women’s Safety Awareness Program
Information on self-defences, legal rights, cyber
safety, and safety measures in public spaces.
Legal Awareness Sessions
Guidance on women’s rights, workplace safety laws, and
grievance redressal mechanisms.
Personality Development Programs
Sessions on confidence building, communication
skills, and leadership development.
Bangle Making Workshop
One-Day Bangle Making Workshop
Organized by: RPA First Grade College in association with Inner Wheel Club of Bangalore Udyog
